Reinaldo Cardona has recently begun his new position as the Executive Director of NASW, New York State Chapter. Reinaldo brings to the chapter a wealth of administrative experience in public and not for profit management. He also has been a social worker in private clinical practice and a social work educator. 

Reinaldo received a B.A. in sociology from St. Francis College in 1972 and the M.S.S.W. degree from Columbia University in 1975. He completed the Certificate Program at the Institute for Not-For-Profit Management at Columbia University Business School in 1987. 

Reinaldo worked for St. Joseph Children’s Services from 1972 to 1985 in a variety of progressively responsible positions, including being the Associate Executive Director. From 1985 through 1988 he served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Puerto Rican Association for Community Affairs. Reinaldo worked at the New York State Department of Social Services from 1989 until 1995 as the Director of the Bureau of Employment Programs and the Assistant Commissioner for the Neighborhood Based Alliance. For the last ten years Reinaldo has been in private practice and an adjunct instructor at the University at Albany teaching both micro and macro social work practice courses. Visit his website.
